While at the mall, Maria is casually handed a flier: 

“Sign up to stop creature testing today! Make $$$ while helping the vulnerable critters!” 

Who wouldn’t want to help out those poor creatures, right? Friends, not test subjects! When Maria gets home, she calls up the number on the flier. The friendly and helpful voice on the other end of the phone helps Maria set up an appointment for later that day.

Maria arrives at the testing facility and begins filling out and signing the stack of forms. What she doesn’t know is that by not thoroughly reading the papers she was handed, she gives up all of her consent to become a test subject. 

Maria had agreed to undergo any examinations and tests the facility, as well as the doctor, deem necessary. She has no idea what she just signed up for, but as long as it helps the creatures and she gets to make a few bucks, who cares!

She wasn’t sure what that would entail and skimmed the paperwork before signing. The only page she studied was the compensation schedule. After returning the paperwork to the front desk, Maria was buzzed through a soundproof door and into the research facility. As soon as the door shut, she was rushed by strong orderlies who restrained their new specimen and put a hood over her head to help put her at ease by not seeing her surroundings before beginning her initial intake.

Maria is brought back to Doctor Tampa’s laboratory with the initial intake complete. Maria will spend her days as a human guinea pig before collecting her big payday! Poor Maria should have looked over that paperwork more thoroughly. She may have decided to decline her new position…
